This conference is organised by the ISPA OFE-C (On-Farm Experimentation Community of International Society of Precision Agriculture), the INRAE-#DigitAg and sponsored by the OECD's Co-operative Research Programme on Biological Resource Management for Sustainable Agricultural Systems, the Agropolis Foundation, #DigitAg, the Occitanie region, as well as the Montpellier University of Excellence, Occitanum, Agreenium, RMT Modelia and RMT NAEXUS, INRAE (Départements MathNum & AgroEcosystem).
Organisers
Created in 2017 by 16 founding members INRAE- #DigitAg is the Digital Agriculture Convergence Laboratory that conducts interdisciplinary research between agronomic sciences, engineering sciences (computer science, mathematics, electronics, physics, etc.) and social and management sciences (economics, sociology, management), bringing together more than 570 experts in these fields to produce the scientific and pedagogical bases necessary to the harmonious deployment of digital agriculture in France, Europe and the Global South. #DigitAg gathers a consortium of 16 public and private partners and 29 research units. It has been granted 9,9M€ support by the PIA (Program of Investment for the Future) for 8 years (2016-2024).
The International Society of Precision Agriculture is the scientific organization that comes in a straight line from the founders of the precision farming idea in Minnesota in the early ’90s. The purposes of ISPA are to organize and conduct international conferences related to precision agriculture (PA), such as the International Conference on Precision Agriculture, European Conference on Precision Agriculture, and other related conferences, but also to develop and maintain communication about the latest developments in PA around the world, with publications of original scientific research in their journal Precision Agriculture.

The university promotes innovative agriculture to contribute to food security and environmental quality, fosters a transition towards a sustainable-management oriented and environmentally-friendly society, and wants to improve human health in changing environments.
Launched in March 2019, the Montpellier Advanced Knowledge Institute on Transitions (MAK’IT) is a newcomer among the Institutes of Advanced Studies (IEA) and one of the flagship projects of the Montpellier University of Excellence Initiative (MUSE). Using innovative interdisciplinary approaches, it intends to boost the contribution of scientific communities to the acceleration of transitions needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the areas of agriculture and food, environment and health.
Occitanum is a French project that implements the innovative 'collective intelligence' approach of "Living Lab". This project aims to participate in a convergence of agriculture and its production systems and a food transition on a regional scale, by mobilising digital technologies to accelerate the agro-ecological transition, allow farmers to regain an income, and offer populations access to local and sustainable food.
Agreenium is a French training and research alliance for agriculture and food, environment and global health which gathers the higher French expertise worldwide in those three domains and at the best international level, this is the ambition of the creation of the Agreenium Alliance on January 1 2021. It brings together most of the public higher education establishments and research organizations placed under the supervision of the Minister responsible for agriculture.
The NAEXUS Joint Technology Network aims to boost the appropriation of digital technologies in agriculture by federating a large network of research, development and training players. To this end, it proposes to network a large ecosystem of skills in order to develop in-depth partnerships between research, training and development players. The official launch of the RMT took place at the beginning of 2021.
Mixed Technology Network Modelia (RMT) is a network that aims to organise exchanges on Data Science and Modelling for Agriculture and Agri-food from 2020 to 2024 between the various players in research, development and agricultural education. This Mixed Technology Network has been labelled and financially supported by the Ministry of Agriculture since 2007, for the networks that preceded the current version of the network.
